Online tickets for concerts in the Elbphilharmonie and Laeiszhalle go on sale Monday (June 20) and can be ordered by telephone from booking offices as well. During the opening season, three local orchestras led by the residing NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra and the residing Ensemble Resonanz, several superb classical music artists as well as 15 leading world orchestras will give concerts in Hamburg. Jazz, pop, folk, singer-songwriter and world music concerts will round off the programme.
For music experts and beginners
A three-week festival featuring the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and Berlin’s Einstürzende Neubauten band among others will follow the opening concerts on January 11 and 12, 2017. During the first six months, over 200 concerts will be staged in the great concert hall and 100 in the smaller hall. The artistic agenda at the Elbphilharmonie offers music experts and beginners, a diverse curated programme with many highlights.
Kings of Convenience & Yo-Yo Ma
Meanwhile, three other concerts have been confirmed in addition to the musical artists already named in the 2016/17 programme. The world-renowned cellist, Yo-Yo Ma, and pianist Kathryn Stott will stage a sonata evening on January 24, 2017 with works by Shostakovich, Franck und Debussy. On March 26, 2017, the mandolin player, Chris Thile will give a concert of works by Bach and improvised pieces. Later, Norway’s Kings of Convenience will also give a guest concert on May 8, 2017.
