Dietrich von Albedyll, Chairman of the Managing Board of Hamburg Marketing GmbH, and Managing Director of Hamburg Tourismus GmbH, stepped down Wednesday from all offices. He thus drew conclusions from a possible conflict of interest between his office and his envisaged, professional future. In a statement issued by the economic authority, Albedyll said: “I am taking this step to avert damage to the company, the city and to myself.”
The decision to resign two months before ending his contract had been difficult. State Council Andreas Rieckhof has acknowledged Albedyll’s decision “with respect”, according to a statement by the senate.
