The EEHH-Cluster is hosting an event called “NEW 4.0 first practical experience report with interfaces, markets and digitalised electricity market of the future” on January 25, 2017 as part of the North German Energy Transition NEW 4.0. An alliance of 60 companies in commerce, science and the political sphere was formed in December across Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein as part of the NEW 4.0 project.
Broad initiative to push energy transition ahead
Participating firms include energy generators, grid operators, technology companies, wind turbine manufacturers, energy-intense companies in Hamburg, the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicon Technology, the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy and Energy System Technology, the University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg), Hamburg-Harburg Technical University and the College of Technology Lubeck. The alliance also includes the Hamburg Chamber of Crafts and aims to meet all energy needs from regenerative sources in future.
Energy transition and digitalisation
The organisers hope to set up a platform to exchange experiences in “digitalising the energy sector”. A workshop will focus on delegates’ needs. Keynote speakers including Uwe Jacob, DNV GL and Michael Merz, Ponton GmbH will give an overview of the requirements and the digital structure of energy supply. A concluding discussion with delegates will focus on the status quo and perspectives.
