EEHH cluster heading to WindEnergy Hamburg with powerful programme

EEHH set to be very active exhibitor with German Renewables Award, panel discussions and research presentations

The Renewable Energy Cluster Hamburg (EEHH) is heading to WindEnergy Hamburg 2016 with several sub exhibitors and an extensive accompanying programme. The leading global expo, Wind Energy Hamburg, will be held from September 27-30 in Hamburg’s fairgrounds and will again host decision-makers in the global energy business. WindEnergy Hamburg covers the whole value chain of both the onshore and offshore wind industry and will have an extra exhibition hall this year. Jan Rispens, Managing Director of EEHH-Cluster, is also on the advisory board of WindEnergy Hamburg. The cluster will stage a whole range of exciting events this year.

Product innovation of the year

EEHH’s 16 sub exhibitors include the Center of Competence for Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency (CC4E), the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicium Technology (ISIT) and the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg (TUHH). One of the highlights is the presentation of the German Renewables Awards on September 28th. An independent jury consisting of leading figures in commerce and science will present the awards in the categories: “Product Innovation of the Year”, “Project of the Year”, “Student Project of the Year”, “Wind Energy” and “Lifetime Wind Energy”. EEHH and the cluster initiative from Schleswig-Holstein will host an event on innovations.

Research projects into renewable energies

On September 29th, the EEHH and the Chamber of Foreign Trade Montréal will organise the “Wind Export Market Canada” focusing on business opportunities and challenges on the Canadian market. Prof. Dr. Timo Busch, from the University of Hamburg, Gunnar Groebler, Head of Renewables at Vattenfall Europe, Jens Kerstan, Senator for the Environment, Lars Bondo Krogsgaard, CEO of Nordex SE, and Michael Westhagemann, CEO Region Nord at Siemens AG, will discuss “The Energy Transition: Nothing but hot air or a German success project”. Representatives of the Energieforschungsverbundes Hamburg will present diverse research projects in the renewable energies sector at EEHH’s joint stand on September 30th.

1,200 exhibitors expected

Around 1,200 exhibitors are expected at WindEnergy Hamburg to present their innovations on approximately 65,000 square metres in nine exhibition halls. Key players like Enercon, Gamesa, GE, Nordex, Senvion, Siemens Wind Power and Vestas have already announced their attendance. New exhibitors from Asia include Envision, which has so far been operating mainly on the Chinese market. Denmark, Turkey, China, Argentina, U.S.A and Canada will all have national pavilions at the fair.
