The Dr. Friedrich Jungheinrich Foundation will support the dean’s office Management Sciences and Technology of the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg (TUHH) in the establishment of the Logistics Research Center. Under the roof of the centre, a modern research laboratory of logistics will be set up, and new cooperation projects are being initiated and supported.. By setting up the research center, the Dr. Friedrich Jungheinrich Foundation, the Jungheinrich AG, and the TUHH want to further intensify their co-operation.
“We are very pleased about the establishment of the Logistics Research Center with our renowned scientific partner, the University of Technology Hamburg-Harburg. The Logistics Research Center will set new standards in science and perfectly into the foundation’s purpose, i.e. the promotion of science, research and education in the fields of mechanical engineering, electrical / electronics and logistics”, says Thomas Heyn, chairman of the Dr. Friedrich Jungheinrich Foundation.
Prof. Dr. Thomas Wrona, designated dean Management Sciences and Technology, draws particular attention to the positive impulses for teaching at TUHH.Joint activities are not only planed in the Bachelor degree course “Logistics and Mobility”, but also in the Master degree course “Logistics, Infrastructure and Mobility” and “International Business and Engineering”, which will teach students technical logistics not only theoretically, but also by elaborate practical experiments in laboratories. The new cooperation will also strengthen the research area “Mobility and Logistics”, which bundles TUHH’s interdisciplinary research projects on sustainable value creation through the development of sustainable logistics and transport systems.
