According to the highly reputed survey, 51 per cent of local companies reported an improved business performance in 2013 compared to the previous year. On national average, only 26 per cent of firms agreed to this statement. 45 per cent of Hamburg‘s logistics player are also confident that the positive development will continue in 2014. Hamburg‘s excellent performance is also reflect by a study conducted by the Fraunhofer Institute. As Fraunhofer‘s SCI work group emphasises, outstanding assets are Hamburg‘s port infrastructure and its close co-operation with neighbouring German states. With the new Hamburg Airport Cargo Center, another gap in Hamburg‘s range of logistics services will be filled by 2015. Following the groundbreaking, construction is at full swing.
