58,786 passengers from 11 calls – the bottom line was positive for the first month of operation at the new Cruise Center Steinwerder. Half of the passengers were from Germany, the rest from 60 different nations. Senator Frank Horch was very pleased, commenting on Friday that “The positive feedback about the Cruise Center Steinwerder in recent weeks proves that we are on the right path. This reaffirms the sense of our investment both in the new terminal infrastructure and in the structure of the cruise market in Hamburg.” The cruise market is booming in Hamburg. The city is a real cruise hotspot, with 158 calls already planned for 2015 and 525,000 passengers forecast.
