There are specific working conditions an employer can provide to win the competition for new talent and qualified professionals. And these factors may be crucial to the success of the entrepreneur. “Companies in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region that pursue and implement these conditions must be encouraged”, says Werner Gliem, CEO of Logistics Initiative Hamburg. The Logistics Initiative thus collaborates with Faktenkontor and supports the annual award granted to “Hamburg’s best employers”.
Best-Practice of Corporate Culture
This year, the special prize in logistics has been awarded to Dachser GmbH & Co. KG Logistics centre Hamburg Food Logistics. In addition to the award, winners will be given junior management coaching by Dunkel, Vögele and Associates GmbH. “We are very excited about the award. Our corporate culture is characterised by mutual respect and a partnership. The award confirms that we implemented our mission into daily work”, says Antje Steffens, Human Resources Manager at Dachser’s branch Hamburg Food Logistics.
Industry Is Growing
The logistics industry in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region of Hamburg thus confirms its reputation as incubator of employment. From 2006 to 2013, direct employment in logistics increased to 168,000 staff. In total, direct or indirect employment in the booming industry totals 380,000 people in the metro region.. On the basis of steady growth, there is a constant demand for new staff. Therefore, to adjust working conditions to the needs and wishes of workers and to invest in the health and employee satisfaction is becoming increasingly important.
