Hamburg can again pride itself on the latest annual tourist results, which have surpassed those of the previous year for the fifteenth consecutive time. Hamburg had over 13.3 million overnight stays in 2016 – an increase of 5.5 per cent over 2015. The Hanse city is also ahead of other German cities and is witnessing the strongest growth in tourism. The ongoing trend is a crucial to commerce in Hamburg as the sector provides jobs for 100,000 people at present.
