the recommendation by the Board of German National Olympic Committee to apply with the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2024 was highly welcomed by Hamburg business community. Fritz Horst Melsheimer, President of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, said: “The recommendation of the German Olympic Sports Confederation Bureau is a great confirmation of the Hamburg concept, and we are all filled with joy. Now, we look forward to the general assembly on 21 March and hope that all members will follow the board’s recommendations. An unanimous vote for Hamburg would give the German proposal a strong boost. The recommendation also confirm the support the Hamburg economy has given to the city’s application as host city, and to sports in Hamburg in general.”
