News from Hamburg’s creative scenes: this weekend, i.e. 13-15 November, the Blickfang Design Fair will turn Hamburg’s Deichtorhallen into a lifestyle showground, with 150 independent designers presenting functional furniture, innovative fashion, and unusual jewellery. Among the exhibitors are famous names such as the Hamburg furniture label “Victor Foxtrot”: http: //www.victorfoxtrot.de/, but also new faces, such as the Australian lighting designer Simon Pithie. For the first time, the sale of the designs presented this year will be supported an online store: //www.blickfang-onlineshop.com/ updated daily.
Blickfang’s concept is based on the idea of buying directly from designers instead of anonymous shops. Blickfang started on Friday night with cocktails enjoyed a the fair’s Late Night Shopping. Lectures will complement the show’s programme on Saturday and Sunday. Other highlights include the special exhibition “Fine Food Design” and the prize-giving gala of the Design Award in the categories “Furniture & Product” and “Fashion & Jewellery”. The award is endowed with 3,000 euro.
New Faces in Hamburg
