Two Hamburg-based start-ups heading to SXSW

Application phase now underway for key South by Southwest festival

Hamburg Startups is searching for six fledgling Hamburg-based start-ups to decide on contestants at the South by Southwest (SXSW) underway from March 9-18, 2018 in Austin, Texas. The deadline for applications is January 20, 2018 (23:59 pm). Two winning companies will receive a ticket to the festival. SXSW is one of the world’s key festivals for music, film and the digital industries and attracts around 70,000 visitors every year. Delegates include managers and artists who present the latest trends in the creative sector.

Companies based in Hamburg

Hamburg-based start-ups across all sectors that have a market-ready product as well as initial success are eligible to apply. Six finalists will be pitted against each other during the Hamburg Startups Mixer – SXSW Edition on January 29, 2018 in betahaus. The two start-ups win a ticket to SXSW, the flight and accommodation in Austin. The winners will follow in the footsteps of other Hamburg-based companies such as Viva con Agua, Nüwiel and Lemonaid who have pitched successfully at SXSW in the past.

Start-ups, who wish to represent Hamburg at the festival and make even more international contacts, should apply by sending a short pitch deck of their company in English to: info@hamburg-startups.net. More information on the entry terms can be found here.
