Startups and young companies in the music industry are invited to apply for professional support of innovative business models in the music industry until 12 July 2015 at the Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft. The Hamburg Ministry of Culture and the Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft jointly launched the “Music WorX Accelerator” as new startup scheme, offering free office space, workshops and advice from industry experts to up to three startups. In addition, 5,000 euro will be provided for the development of the company.
Groundbreaking Funding Scheme
The Hamburg Ministry of Culture has been funding startups in the music industry for five years. Introduced last year, the intensified monitoring of young founders meanwhile has paid off. Providing next to free advice and working spaces also funds for paying external service providers such as programmers, lawyers, or marketers, the Music WorX Accelerator is a pioneering funding model for the local music industry, Prof Barbara Kisseler, Hamburg Minister of Culture, is convinced.
Award for the Best Business Idea
At Reeperbahn Festival’s conference, the participants of the new startup scheme will have the opportunity to expand their network. At the end of the three-month funding programme from early September to late November 2015, the founders will be taking part in a specially organised competition in the framework of the Music WorX Day.
Long Way to Market
“From an initial concept to market, it is often a long, hard slog. With the Music WorX Accelerator, speed up this process by bringing together young entrepreneurs and 'old hands’ of the music market”, explains Egbert Rühl, managing director of the Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft.
