In her blog, DRAW ME THE NEWS, the Cologne-based graphic designer and illustrator Sarah von der Heide has been graphically commenting on current affairs since 2012 – weekly news about large and small events of world history. Over the years, a very personal visual diary with ironic, satirical and political commentary has arisen. The exhibition features illustrations from 2015, inviting us to take a new and different look back on the last year. All photographs have been published by GUDBERG NERGER in a beautifully designed book.
The pop-up exhibition at the Hamburg Design Center designxport at HafenCity Hamburg will be inaugurated on January 12, 2016, at 7 p.m. The works will be on display until January, 23, 2016. Admission is free.
Showcasing the design capital Hamburg
The publicly funded design centre acts as an initiator and host of presentations and exhibitions, and promotes the exchange with designers from Germany and abroad. Thus, designxport is the ambassador for Hamburg, the design capital of Germany, and as a platform for public discourse as well. What is design and what can be achieved by design? Designers will explore the use of goods and design in everyday life, discover and use environmentally friendly materials, develop interactions between people and their environment, and optimize communication.
