nextReality.Hamburg is now accepting funding applications for the upcoming Augmented World Expo (AWE) Europe from October 19-20, 2017 in Munich and the VR Days from October 25-27, 2017 in Amsterdam. Fledgling start-ups in the virtual reality, augmented reality and merged reality sectors, who wish to be hailed as Hamburg’s “nextReality” pioneers, must submit their applications by August 30, 2017 at the latest. Select companies will receive grants of up to EUR 2,000.
More than 1,500 delegates including entrepreneurs, designers, developers and investors are expected at the AWE Europe in Munich. Speakers, start-ups and diverse organisations will highlight AR and VR as economic catalysts and how they can help make health and education systems more democratic and strengthen sustainability.
The third VR Days 2017 in Amsterdam will host inspiring keynotes, expert sessions, workshops and seminars with the best brains and the most creative content, a co-production market, writers’ room, VRackathon, an exhibition of the top VR & AR, the BASE-Investor event to connect start-ups with investors. Speakers include Samantha Gorman and Danny Cannizzaro of TenderClaws, Boo Aguilar of FlagCX and Michael Gourlay, Head of Development at Microsoft/HoloLens among others. Expert seminars on media, arts and entertainment, health care and education as well as enterprise solutions are also on the agenda.

nextReality.Hamburg was founded in January 2017, backed by the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, to promote the city as a hot spot of virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality and 360° video. The aim is to boost networking and the transfer of knowledge among start-ups in media and the digital industry and to develop new business models.
