The Chamber of Commerce has launched a new web page focusing on crowd funding for small and medium-sized companies, start-ups and firms with unusual business models. Prof. Dr. Hans-Jörg Schmidt Trenz, CEO of Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, said: “Although there is more interest in financing via many small investors and which often has a huge public effect, until now there was no practically-related, neutral overview from a corporate perspective. We have now closed this gap.”
Learning from examples
Those interested can now find clearly-presented, concise details of the main, commercial, practical and legal aspects of the various types of crowd funding on www.crowdfunding-hamburg.de. The web page also highlights the advantages and disadvantages as well as opportunities and risks and gives eleven practical tips. Experiences made by companies in Hamburg as well as an overview of important web pages on the market and the Chamber of Commerce’s advisory service round off the web page. This new offer is based on input from the chamber’s Committee on the Financial Sector and the Working Group on Founding Companies as well as a project by students at the Hamburg School of Business Administration (HSBA) .
