The sixth edition of the Online Marketing Rockstars will be held from February 25 and 26 in Hamburg. Greater demand for tickets has prompted the organizers to search for a bigger venue and the expected 10,000 visitors this year should prove a real challenge. In 2016, the festival will be held in Hamburg Messe after its premiere last year in the Millerntor Stadium in St. Pauli. Jasper Ramm, Head of Business Development at Ramp 106 GmbH, told Hamburg News: “We need this bigger location because there is such keen interest.”
Big players located in Hamburg
The great rush to the see the Online Marketing Rockstars is by no means coincidental. Readers of onlinemarketing.de recently voted Hamburg “Online Marketing Capital 2016”. Over 600 users took part in the survey of “five cities (Hamburg, Berlin, Cologne, Düsseldorf and Munich) with the biggest influence and the most active digital marketing scene”. Hamburg leads Berlin with 40 votes and the distance to the other rival cities was even bigger. Of course, Hamburg is home to big players in the sector like Google and Facebook and ad-tech firms such as Appnexus. Also, the special onlinemarketing.de portal, which is edited in Hamburg, has around 100,000 visitors per month.
Skateboard professionals to speak
Philipp Westermann Meyer, founder of the event and online entrepreneur, said: “The Online Marketing Rockstars stand for new faces and practically-orientated trends – and not just for a dusty conference atmosphere.” Prominent speakers will include Tony Hawk. The Californian, who is “probably the world’s most famous professional skateboarder” will roller board onto the stage and explain how he has evolved into a globally successful brand. Hawk will describe how talent, a community and an arcane niche are used in marketing to create a global brand.
10,000 professional visitors expected
The Ramp 106 GmbH is organising the Rockstars Festival in co-operation with the Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH. The Expo, exclusive master classes on current issues and the digital expo party will be held on the first day. On February 26, the conference and the after-show party are on the agenda. World leaders of the industry, who will show the possible future direction of digital marketing, will also attend the conference. All the events will be held on the Hamburg fair ground in Halls A2 and A3 for the first time with 10,000 trade visitors and 150 exhibitors expected.
