More delegates at Social Media Week Hamburg 2016

Organizers say digital conference went well. Partner network in Hamburg expanded again

The hi-life Uriz von Oertzenof agency, organizers of this year’s Social Media Week Hamburg (#SMWHH) have drawn a positive conclusion after a week with over 170 sessions, 270 speakers and increased visitor numbers in addition to 3,000 registered delegates. “We tightened the structure of the fifth edition and revived the network and added strong partners such as Microsoft Deutschland, Mercedes me Store Hamburg and Carat Deutschland/Vizeum Deutschland,” according to the organizers. Some partners like nextMedia.Hamburg Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft or Hamburg Marketing GmbH accompanied the event as well for the fifth time.

Markthalle as a new hub

Content and influencer marketing, visual trends, digital transformation, channels such as Snapchat and YouTube as well as copyright law and freedom of opinion were the main topics on social networks, at the live event and on the stages. Most events were held in the University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Macromedia) and the Markthalle Hamburg convention centre became one of the main hubs. The location near the station proved popular among visitors, organizers say.

International speakers

A speaker from New York, Deanna Zandt, said: “It was great being part of the #SMWHH digital conference with my keynote speech ‘Stop being such a Jerk on the Internet’. I met people in the #SMWHH network and got to know ideas which give me a better understanding of this part of the world. I’m looking forward to coming back.” Hamburg news reported earlier on her speech.
