Look Local has been named winner at the SpeedUP! Europe Accelerate of the European Conference on the Future Internet (ECFI) in Hamburg and took home a prize money of 200,000 euro. “We are thrilled about the first place and especially about the jury’s verdict: strong team, solid business model and great vision. The prize money will be 100 per cent invested into product development”, said the winning team
The winning concept is the brainchild of fashion insider René Schnellen, business consultant Martin Brücher, and software developer Florian Klemt. Even though content brokers exist in many sectors, they are still missing in fashion. In March 2015, the company was officially formed. Today, the startup headquartered in Hamburg-Altona employs three full-time employees. According to the company, Look Local is currently working with 30 fashion retailers and 28 manufacturers and brands, including famous names such as Bugatti, comma, or Marc O 'Polo. In addition, the startup is networking with licensing partners and has entered technical co-operations.
The key to the uniform manufacturer presentation is an open API that allows to transport content from the cloud to the trader’s website. The brand page on the website is just one of many applications. Diverse content can be transferred through innovative interface solutions to numerous communication channels.
Tailoured For Success
The young entrepreneurs are convinced: “Fashion will always be something you have to feel and see. However, the customer of tomorrow wants to be addressed in a modern way. In this sense: Look Local “. For Felix Müller, who has been accompanying the team of Look Local as startup consultant from the outset, the result is not pure luck, but the result of excellent hard work: “It’s fantastic to watch the professionalism and speed of the team that has been taking them from success to success since the start of the project.”
Seven Minutes Pitch
The team from the startup dock of the Hamburg University of Technology successfully competed against 31 international teams from the SpeedUP!Europe Accelerator Programmme that pitched in the finals of the ECFI in Hamburg. Each team only had only seven minutes to convince the jury of its business model and its implementation. The founders of Look Local succeeded in doing so.
