Hamburg will become the centre of attention when the second “Fintech Week” launches from November 6-12, 2017 under the theme: “One week. One city. The best about the future of finances.” The meet-up, organised by finletter, will bring all kinds of financial companies together with technology firms in Hamburg’s betahaus to discuss digital ways of shaking up the banking sector. The agenda is likely to attract founders, developers, fintech start-ups, managers and media professionals and offer bank managers a chance to mull potential collaborations.
Digitalisation shaking up financial sector
Digitalisation is shaking up Hamburg’s long tradition in the financial sector and bringing banks together with innovative fintech start-ups. These agile newcomers are adding momentum and helping users to obtain loans in just a few clicks or find digital investment opportunities, which will be among the aspects highlighted during the meet-up.
Hamburg – a hotspot of fintech companies
Around 40 fintech start-ups with some 1,100 employees are based in Hamburg and thrive on the city’s culture of innovation. Last year, around EUR 91 million were invested in Hamburg-based fintech companies, according to a survey by the Investitionsbank Berlin (IBB).
