The founder of start-ups in the digital economy, Hanse Ventures and Personello.com, a leading provider of personsalised photos as presents, and which is bringing the domain and the existing web page into a joint start-up called Geschenke.de. They aim to make the site one of the leading recommendation platforms for presents and are scheduling the relaunch for the first quarter of 2016.
Several million visitors annually
Jochen Maaß, founder and manager of Hanse Ventures, said: “The experience with our start-up, www.pflege.de, showed us the kind of tailwind a generic domain offers to establishing a market-leading meta platform. Unlike domains with proper names, generic domains are named after objects i.e. generic terms. Geschenke.de has already established itself on the German-language online gift market. The site’s operators say the platform has several million visitors annually. The relaunch aims to give visitors improved navigation and to help make their choices easier.
