On 24 November 2015, the Hamburg Music Award HANS was granted in eight category. The prize-giving gala at Hamburg’s notorious music club Markthalle was attended by 500 guests. The ceremony was presented by the musician Lukas Nimscheck (Deine Freunde). Deichkind, a popular hip-hop and electro punk band, was recognised as “Hamburg Artist of the Year”. The verdict of the HANS jury: “Deichkind artfully juggle with language and beats and still manage to reach a vast audience, which is an art that is often underestimated “. Their album “Niveau Weshalb Warum” was honoured as “Hamburg Album of the Year”.
In the category “Hamburger Young Talent of the Year” presented by Town Talker Media AG, the HANS went to Helena Hauff. With “Discreet Desires”, the Electro artist launched her debut album. Hauff has already gained international reputation as a a DJ and producer. Her base, however, is still Hamburg’s Golden Pudel Club. For the first time in 2015, a HANS has been awarded in the category “Hamburg Musician of the Year” and granted to the jazz trumpeter Nils Wülker. Max Mutzke, who lent Wülker his voice for “Season”, held the laudatory address.
“Piss” by Schnipo Schranke was distinguished as “Hamburg Song of the Year”. “Why does it taste like piss down low when I kiss you” the duo Daniela Reis and Fritzi Ernst ask in their song, and thus not only conquered the annual charts of music magazines such as intro and Music Express, but also convinced the jury of HANS: “'Piss’ is of a disarming freshness that is as precious as rare in pop. “
