Taking Jimdo to the Next Level
“We’re incredibly proud of having built Jimdo with only €500,000 of outside capital,” said Matthias Henze, co-founder of Jimdo, “but now it is time to take Jimdo to the next level and pursue the additional product and market opportunities that are available to the company in this rapidly growing market. For this step, we are really happy that we have found the right partner in Spectrum—they have a deep understanding of our business, and have a long term perspective, just like we do.”
Pioneer in Cloud-Based Services
“We have had the pleasure of getting to know Jimdo and its team over a multi-year period and greatly admire the business they have built and the company’s values-driven culture,” said Ben Spero, Managing Director at Spectrum Equity. “Jimdo has been a pioneer in providing cloud-based services to help small businesses across the world reach their customers online, and we are excited to partner with the team as they continue to grow the business.”
Jimdo is used by entrepreneurs like Allison, musicians like Ben, yoga instructors like Oceana, and millions of talented individuals and businesses who want to present their projects and passions online. Users and experts alike praise Jimdo for its simplicity of use, individuality in design, and outstanding service.
At Home in Hamburg
in 2014, Jimdo was recognised for its achievements and grated the city’s startup awards “Hamburger Gründerpreis”. The company is now one of the finalists on the federal level of the German startup contest. In regard to Hamburg, co-founder Fridtjof Detzner says: “In Hamburg, we were able to set up a great team, which we are going to expand even further if needed. In addition, our office is a great place to work, with excellent links to public transport. We just feel simply great here in Hamburg.“
