The Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft celebrates Wednesday (November 15) the fifth anniversary of the “Nordstarter” crowdfunding platform, which has earned more than EUR 2 million for over 200 crowdfunding projects in the creative industries. The celebration aboard the MS Stubnitz highlighted Nordstarter’s achievements across the city.
Important financing tool for creative industry
The Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft founded the platform which is open to all creative stakeholders and enterprises in the creative industries. “The success shows the timeliness of crowdfunding. It meets the needs of smaller firms and projects with a high degree of innovation potential and ideally complements the existing sponsorship and financing programmes,” said Dr. Carsten Brosda, State Councillor for Culture, Media and Digital Affairs. Egbert Rühl, Managing Director of Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft, stressed: “During the past years, crowdfunding has turned into an important financing and marketing instrument for creative people. Nordstarter has allowed us to tap into this development early and act as a regional anchor for crowdfunding. We are proud to have collected over EUR 2 million for around 200 projects in the meantime.”
