On 4 June 2015, the first Hamburg Innovation Summit (HHIS) will take place at the freshly renovate “Kulturspeicher” in Harburg. For the first time, 400 industry experts and decision-makers from business, science and politics will come together to sustainably shape Hamburg as a place for innovation and to give important impulses for a technology-oriented future of the city.
Technology Exhibition “Tomorrow’s Tech Today”
Virtual reality glasses, multitouch displays in XXXL, soccer playing robots, 3D Design pressure: at the technology fair of #HHIS, Tomorrow’s Tech Today (3t-Expo) will represent more than 20 innovative startups and companies and their ideas. It invites to experience and try the technology of tomorrow at first hand and to talk to experts openly about its benefits and limitations. For one day it’s all about knowledge relevant to the technology of tomorrow. All visitors can thusmake their own picture of the “next big thing”.
Parallel, an interactive “barcamp” will take place, with participants specifying its contents themselves. During lunchtime, an “Inspirational Talk” with Klaus Maierwein, an industry expert with excellent contacts in the innovation scene of Silicon Valley, among others co-founder of the successful Austrian news portal derStandard.at., will bring participants into the right mood for the “barcamp”. It will be consists of open sessions and discussions on “Technology and Innovation in Hamburg”, moderated by barcamp veteran Moritz Avenarius
Prize-giving Gala of the Hamburg Innovation Awards
The evening will begin with the official greeting by Frank Horch, Hamburg’s Minister of Economicy, Transport, and Innovation, and the keynote address by Professor Frank Piller, an expert on technology and innovation management. At 6.30 p.m., outstanding concepts in the categories idea, start and growth by Hamburg startups will be honoured with the Hamburg Innovation Awards. Selected by a professional jury, winners will be given 3,000 euros in prize money and a well equipped “startup suitcase”. The day will end with the HHIS party in Harburg’s inland port.
The HHIS will be organised by the Innovation and Development Bank Hamburg (IFB) in co-operation with the Ministry of Economy, Transport and Innovation (BWVI), FUTURE CANDY, hit-Technopark, TuTech Innovation, Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), and the economic development dssociation for the south of Hamburg. The project will be steered by the TUHH Startup Dock.
