A deadline of March 26, 2016 is nearing for founders, start-ups and SMEs to enter their submissions for the Hamburg Innovation Awards on that website. The prize will be presented at the Hamburg Innovation Summit (HHIS) the second edition of which begins on May 30th. Founders and those from commerce, politics and science who are interested in shaping the future will meet in the venue at the recently-opened Center of Applied Aeronautical Research (ZAL). The event is being held under the patronage of Olaf Scholz, Mayor of Hamburg, and Katharina Fegebank, Senator for Science and Research. Frank Horch, Senator for Economics, is the official ambassador of HHIS.
Presentation of “Founders Sustainability Prize”
The Hamburg Innovation Awards will honour new, sustainable business ideas and innovative companies in the categories “idea”, “start” and “growth”. Each winner will receive a cash prize of EUR 3,000 as well as valuable non-cash prizes. This year’s new award category, the north German “Founders Sustainability Prize” will be presented by Katharina Fegebank. This is to honour exemplary records in developing innovative and knowledge-based business ideas with clear references to sustainability. The prize is worth EUR 15,000. Guests and prizewinners will have an opportunity to network at the HHIS after-show party.
Futurecandy & Startup Dock
Other highlights of the programme include the “Futurecandy Expo”, the theme of which is “Experience live today the technologies of the future”. Young entrepreneurs and IT experts will present their concepts in trending sectors such as virtual reality, e-health or FinTech. Discussions at the HHIS Master Classes will focus among others on whether co-operative models can turn start-ups into models and the importance of leadership today.
