The Hamburg e-commerce service Pilot Channel Solutions has been able to assert itself as one of 18 German startups in German Accelerator pitch. 80 companies participated in the pitch, hoping to thus access the US market. Pilot Channel is the only startup based in Hamburg to be among the winners.
Founded three years ago, Channel Pilot Solutions claims that more than one-third of all German online shops use their multi-channel online marketing tool. This tool acts as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) or cloud-based solution. It enables online shop operators to list their products on all relevant national and international marketing channels. With Channel Pilot’s software, online shop operators can also analyse and optimise their product or shop performance. Now, the expansion to the U.S. market is being envisaged with support of the German Accelerator.
Preparing for the U.S. market
Out of a pool of 80 applicants, a group of finalists had been invited to present their business ideas to an international jury of experts after going through an intense multi-tier selection process. Named winner, the programme for Channel Pilot will commence in the second half of 2015. Already present in the U.K. with a London office, the Hamburg startup will now benefit from a mentoring programme in New York City to prepare the company for the market entry in the U.S.
In an interview with Hamburg-Startups.net, Mirko Platz, founder of Channel Pilot, said: “The market entry will not be easy. However, we see great chances, as international customers have already been using the in the United States. In our new US office provided by German Accelerator, local staff in the areas of sales, marketing, account management and support will be working.”
