Applicants such as agencies, advertisers, companies and young talents have until September 29, 2017 to submit their campaigns for the 12th Neptun Award in Hamburg. A high reach billboard campaign by Grabarz & Partner is stirring up attention to this year’s award. The billboards, backed by outdoor advertisers WallDecaux, are being set up in over 500 places across Hamburg.
Intelligence, vitality and efficiency
Five shortlisted candidates have to face a jury of advertising agencies for the “Neptun Award” and live voting by an audience of experts during the “Neptun Grand Prix“. The jury will also present a “Neptun Talents Award” and a special “Best Use of Mobile” prize. Gunnar Brune of Tricolore Marketing/STORIES, said: “We judge according to five criteria: innovation, creation, intelligence, vitality and efficiency. It does not matter whether the campaign is on a big national scale or a smaller, regional campaign.”
The finale will be held under the theme “Clash of Agencies” with live pitches by the five best campaigns, live voting and the award ceremony on November 16, 2017 in front of some 300 spectators in Hamburg’s Theater Kehrwieder. The winner gets a EUR 60,000 media package provided by WallDecaux and Oxmox magazine. Last year’s winners, GUD Grüner and Deutscher, swept the boards with their campaign for Berlin’s public transport utility Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) and came away with both the “Neptun Award” and the “Neptun Grand Prix”.
The contest is open to cross media campaigns that have run on at least three media channels between June 2016 und September 2017. The “Talents Award” targets young, creative people in advertising, who have created but do not have to have implemented cross media cases and campaigns, as part of their term projects and diploma theses.
