Medical App Award: Application Period Extended

The Northern German industry network Life Science Nord and FUSE honour innovative medical apps with the app. Applications welcome until 20 November

The idea for the assessment of medical apps by an interdisciplinary jury, and the vision to honour the best application with an award is a brainchild of the Life Science Nord working group “Medical Apps”. “In the market, apps are increasingly launched. Especially in medicine, quality is of high priority”, says Matthias Steffen, head of the Life Science Nord working group “Medical Apps”.

Prize-Giving Gala On 12 January 2016

For the first time, the prize-giving gala of the Medical App Awards will be held on 12 January 2016 in the course of the “Connected Health” convention in Kiel. Taking place in its seventh year, the two-day congress will be organised by Schleswig-Holstein’s Ministry of Economics. The event be attended experts from the healthcare industry from all over Germany, using it as a platform for information and exchange, for networking and future visions. 2016’s motto will be “promote benefit – close gaps creativity is the future.”.

Applications Accepted Until 20 November

Developers and seller of medical apps are invited to submit their application by 20 November 2015. Especially apps that facilitate the everyday medicine for clinics, healthcare institutions, physicians, patients, caregivers or family members are in demand. Apps that are not yet fully realised may apply for the award with a presentation. The apps will be judged by an interdisciplinary jury (www.medical-app-award.de/jury) in regard to target group oriented presentation of information, ease of use and protection of data. Furthermore, the jury will observe the winning apps over the next three years to gain insight of how to individual apps perform in the market.
