Key "Social Media Week" sessions for start-ups

Issues range from Top 5 inefficiencies to basic, legal requirements of personnel management

Founders can look forward to many interesting events during Social Media Week Hamburg (SMWHH) from February 27-March 3, 2017 including the special Hamburg Startups on #StartupDay (February 28) in betahaus. The event also includes a Workshop on Financial Management Issues. Ulrich Britting, founder of the auditing company, Best Audit, will explain the “Top 5 Inefficiencies” in the financial management of new companies. During another session, Shelley-Luise Burke, start-up co-ordinator at Deutsche Bank, will highlight when a loan makes sense for founders and how to prepare for the talks.

Networking event: Hamburg Startups Mixer – SXSWHH Edition

A third Hamburg Startups-Workshop will deal with Labour Law for Start-ups. Jan-Ove Becker, a lawyer with the vangard law office, will highlight key points as well as dismissals. Another session will be devoted to Food-Startups. Guests from the sector, trade and large companies will discuss how new companies can approach issues such as scaling and entering the market, finding investors as well as funding. Hamburg Startups will round off the #StartupDay with a networking event called Hamburg Startups Mixer – SXSWHH Edition.

Relevant content – basics for successful public relations

Other sessions on #StartupDay include #AppLegal | Top 10 in App-Law. Then, lawyers from Fechner media law company will deal with recurring legal hurdles to developing, preparing and selling apps. In the panel discussion PR 101 for Start-ups: Basics of PR Success, young and aspiring founders can learn from experts at news aktuell, which is owned by the dpa Group, the essence of relevant content and how to convey it to journalists, bloggers and influencers.

Unlike most other sessions, participants must register per email for this workshop at holtz@newsaktuell.de. During individual 35-minute talks, experts will focus on young entrepreneurs and give advice on how to reach target groups.

How Digital Media Women become start-up founders

Workshops by the Nutzwert Kommunikation agency in betahaus will highlight how start-ups can improve their Facebook activities and their Google ranking. Founders receive practical tips for a greater reach and improved interaction on their Facebook pages and within a tight budget. The crowdmedia GmbH will highlight which content offers added value, how to get the message to the right groups and to gauge success during a session in the Chamber of Commerce’s InnovationsCampus

The comdirect bank will host a Keynote on Hamburg as a Fintech Location on February 27, 2017 focusing on how fintechs and banks can be more successful in future. A panel be held by the Digital Media Women (#DMW) on March 1, 2017 for young and aspiring female founders. Digitally fit women will tell how they became founders of start-ups, one-woman businesses, managing associates, freelancers or interim managers.
