Hamburg Convention Bureau expands U.S. activities

First time participation at Orlando's AIBTM as congress and event location

For the first time, the Hamburg Convention Bureau (HCB) will participated in this year’s Americas Incentive, Business Travel & Meetings Exhibition (AIBTM) in Orlando/Florida from 10 to 12 June. Focussing on Hamburg’s promotion as international MICE destination, the HCB thus intensifies its activities on the U.S. market. Hamburg will be the only German exhibitor to showcase itself as a European location of quality.

Central and diverse

Innovative sectors of the economy and an attractive research landscape make the northern German metropolis an interesting location for business events. Hamburg offers a wide range of venues and service providers for the entire range of events from international conferences to smaller corporate events. With its airport and ICE trains stations well connected to the city, a broad range of three to five star hotels, and an centrally located congress centre, Hamburg is positioning itself as a highly competitive conference and event location.

Ready for the world’s biggest congress market

From German perspective, the U.S. are a leading MICE market, particularly in the field of events hosted by international corporations. HCB has thus been waving the Hamburg flag for several years through the participation at selected fairs and marketing events in the United states. Having significantly strengthened its power by high quality recruitments in the past months, the 100 per cent subsidiary of Hamburg Marketing GmbH is well prepared to intensify its activities. “We are sure that Hamburg will also convince U.S. MICE planers by its assets. With our participation in the AIBTM, we would like to better get to know American meeting and event industry, and to make contacts within the industry in order to attract international conferences and events to the Elbe city”, says Thorsten Kausch, Managing Director of HCB and Hamburg Marketing GmbH.

Serving the U.S. market at HCB, Nele Aumann will participate at further three fairs and sales events in the U.S. to promote Hamburg in the second part of the year.

One and only German exhibitor

The HCB is not only a first-time participant of AIBTM, but also the only German exhibitor this year. Among other things, the Hanseatic city will be the key destination of an event hosted by the fair organiser in co-operation with the European industry magazine CIM to promote Hamburg as a MICE location.
