Visitors to the seventh edition of the ancora boat show in Holstein’s private, ancora Marina, can view the latest in sailing and motor yachts from May 27-29, 2016. And trying out some vessels on the Baltic Sea is likely to be a big draw. Exhibitors on land will be presenting their new accessories and offer information about their products as well as water-themed entertainment. An exciting, instructive and action packed supporting programme is on offer for the whole family.
New yachts and fighting leaks
Organisers are expecting keen interest in boats and the star of the 140 exhibited vessels is likely to be the first ever Najad 450 CC presented. The Sunbeam 22.1 will also debut as well as the sleek Quicksilver 755 Weekend motorboat while the longest yacht on display this year will be the 24.98-metre Mistral.
Skippers can enjoy a huge festival programme on land and at sea. The Nordtörn-Well Sailing and the Pantaenius yacht insurance will demonstrate how to deal with leaks in an emergency. Participants can learn how to treat leaks effectively on a specially prepared boat, Meri Crash, in realistic conditions.
Latest in radar technology
The German Maritime Search and Rescue Service (DGzRS) will give visitors an opportunity to experience work aboard a real rescue cruiser at sea. The WellSailing sailing school will also teach beginners and old hands how to moor boats and demonstrate various manoeuvres for practising.
Exhibitors such as A.W. Niemeyer, specialists in equipment and accessories, will present their latest products in over 70 pagoda marquees with accessories and services for all aspects of watersport, while Raymarine, specialists in on-board electrics, will present their new quantum radar. Furuno radar specialist will also show off a new 25Watt Doppler radar aboard the company’s “Marlin” boat.
