Hamburg Messe pleased with first home² fair

10,000 visitors, 175 exhibitors, interesting focal themes at first home² fair in Hamburg

The first home² fair for the property sector in Hamburg ended Sunday on a positive note, a representative survey of visitors has found. Some 91 per cent of interviewees said they had received many ideas for their properties and found good means of information at the fair. Bernd Aufderheide, Managing Director of Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH (HMC) said: “That was a good start to the new business year. Our 175 exhibitors, around 10,000 visitors and as organisers, we are very pleased with the first home² fair.”

Booming property sector in Hamburg

North Germany’s new property fair focused on four main themes: “Property, Financing and Advice”, “Building Houses and House Technology”, “Redevelopment, Renovation and Modernisation” as well as “Gardening and Landscaping”. Aufderheide noted: “The property market in Hamburg and the region surrounding the Hanse city is booming. Those who would like to have dreams of their own home come true and wish to invest in owning a property need reliable information and well-founded advice. The home² is the right place and has launched at the right time – at the start of the building season.”

Dates of next fair set

Exhibitors also expressed satisfaction with the first home². “The home² definitely fills a gap in the market in Hamburg. People here are very projected-orientated. Visitors came to us with very concrete enquiries,“ said Ralf Mertens, Head of Sales and Marketing at Hummel Küchenwerk GmbH. The Hamburg Energy Days also formed part of the fair and looked at energy efficient properties and e-mobility. Experts in the forum home² highlighted smart homes, insurance and financing. Hamburg’s police force was also on hand to advise on security measures and burglary protection. Exhibitors such as Hummel Küchenwerk GmbH presented their range of barrier-free kitchens including a height-adjustable kitchen island unit. The Hamburg Authority for Health and Consumer Protection and the social welfare organisation Diakonischen Werk presented a model apartment for people with dementia to show how they can furnish their homes and remain largely independent. The next home² fair has been scheduled from January 26-28, 2018 in Hamburg’s fairgrounds.
