Winners of Golden Camera

Trophies presented Saturday in Hamburg. 1,200 guests attended gala in Hamburg Messe

The Golden Camera film and TV awards were presented Saturday in Hamburg to winners including Hollywood stars, music greats and famous TV stars in a gala hosted by Thomas Gottschalk. The film called “Ein großer Aufbruch” (A Great Departure) won the “Best German TV Film” award.

This year, a first, secret vote was held to select the winner of the category, “Best German Mini Series/Series” which was won by “Deutschland 83” (RTL). Maria Simon won the “Best German Actress” while Jörg Hartmann won over the jury, who included Anna Maria Mühe, Cordula Strohmann, Matti Geschonneck, Guido Maria Kretschamen and Axel Nilberg.

Günther Jauch most popular showmaster

Edin Hasanovic won the Golden Camera for “Best Young Talent” and was serenaded by shooting star, Namika, who sang a special version of her hit “Lieblingsmensch”. Dunja Halali accepted the prize in the “Best Information” category from comedian Michael Mittermeier. The public voted Helene Fischer “Most Popular German Music Act” and Günther Jauch won the “Most Popular German Showmaster” award.

1,200 invited guests

Gerard Butler won the “Best International Actor” category and received the award from Til Schweizer, his fellow thespian and good friend. Meanwhile, Hollywood star Julianne Moore expressed thanks in German for the “Best International Actress” trophy. Some 1,200 guests gave British actress Helen Mirren a standing ovation when she accepted the Golden Camera award “Lifetime Achievement International” from Christian Berkel. The legendary Beach Boys received a Golden Camera award in the “Lifetime Achievement Music” and stirred things up with their rendition of “Good Vibrations”. This year, the prize was presented by the entire Funke-Mediengruppe and not only the HÖRZU TV magazine.
