North Europe's biggest jewellery fair to open its doors

40th Mineralien Hamburg to showcase jewellery and fossiles - special emphasis on Scandinavia

The 40th Mineralien Hamburg gets underway from December 1-3, 2017 in Hamburg’s fairgrounds. This year, visitors can look forward to the the fantastic special exhibition “Scandinavia – magic of gems, glaciers and dinosaurs” and “Witnesses of primeval times” for the jubilee event. The exhibition takes fans on a tour of about a dozen regions with highlights such as Sweden’s oldest fossile. “As part of the special show, fossiles from various Scandinavian landscapes will be shown in 12 display cases,” said Dr. Frank Rudolph, who is organising the exhibition. One of the display cases will present exhibits from the Swedish island of Gotland. “The show includes tropical corals among others,” said Rudolph.

Global exhibitors

Around 400 exhibitors from 34 nations will showcase fascinating one-offs, beautiful jewels, and million-year-old fossils during the 40th Mineralien Hamburg. To celebrate the 40th anniversary, those turning 40 this year get free admission. The world’s fourth largest minerals fair annually attracts numerous visitors and collectors from the Hamburg region in the run-up to Christmas.
