70,000 Visitors At REISEN Hamburg 2015

Organisers pleased with the result. 50 per cent of all visitors interested in cruising

At the end of North Germany’s biggest Holiday, Caravanning, Outdoor and Cycling Exhibition, a thoroughly positive balance was drawn by the organisers. During five days, more than 900 exhibitors presented their latest ideas and programmes for the next holiday, and also bikes, camper vans, caravans and equipment.

More than 70 000 visitors visited the eight hall in ordern to gather information on new destinations and enjoy the fair’s holiday mood. “With shipping lines and cruise operators present, the exhibition focus on cruise dreams was particularly popular”, states Bernd Aufderheide, CEO Hamburg Messe & Congress. “Nearly half of all visitors were interested in cruise holidays. This year’s focal theme clearly is clearly a dominant holiday trend. We will thus expand our world of cruising next year”, continued Aufderheide on. Also met with interest was the caravanning area with its newly released models.

Wanderlust Unbroken

Also in 2015, Northern Germans are bitten by the travel bug continues unabated. In the survey conducted by an independent research firm, 83 per cent of the visitors said they had already planed a trip. In regard to forms of travel, city breaks dominated the ranking (57 per cent / 2014: 52 per cent) ahead of active vacation (36 per cent / unchanged to the previous year) and beach holidays (35 per cent / 2014: 34 per cent).

New Bike Hall

Highly appreciated were also the thematic areas on adventure and outdoor holidays. A Walking Village provided active visitors with many ideas and offers on rambling unspoilt landscapes. In hall B1, for the first time dedicated to e-bikes and bicycles, visitors were able to test electric bikes on a track. Other popular theme worlds focused on “Fairy Tale Holidays” and exotic speciality trips.

Also, the north of Germany presented itself as a popular tourist destination. “Biking and camping with dog were the two topics that interested visitors the most. Overall, the visitors were very impressed with our offer”, said Andreas Scheibe, stand manager of the Association North Sea Schleswig-Holstein.
