Stollwerk Leaves Cologne For Hamburg

After the relocation of production, also headquarters will move to Norderstedt in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region, where HERZA Chocolate has been manufacturing since 1921

After 175 years in Cologne, the traditional chocolate manufacturer will relocate to Norderstedt to benefit from synergies, consolidate its business and continue to grow. All 130 Cologne employees were offered a new job in the north.

Specialised In Pralinés

Since 2011, Stollwerck is part of the Belgian group Baronie Sweet Chocolat Products Group. The production range includes trade brands and private label products as well as custom production of chocolate. Stollwerck’s Norderstedt plant is a specialist in the production of chocolates. Famous brands such as Sarottti and Alpia, Schwarze Herrenschokolade and Eszet leaves the lines in Norderstedt and at the two other factories in Saalfeld and Berlin. Additional production plants are located in Belgium and Switzerland.

A Leading Location Of The Confectionary Industry

With the relocation of Stollwerck, Norderstedt is significantly strengthened as a leading location of the confectionary industry. Already since 1921, HERZA has been producing in Norderstedt. Today, the chocolate maker is an established specialist in two fields: small-sized, functional chocolate and compounds for use in ice cream, cereal, baking mixes, confectionery and dairy products as well as functional bar designed for “sports”, “health” or “snack” as a private label.
