IBA Hamburg To Continue Work As Municipal Project Developer

In Neugraben-Fischbek, IBA Hamburg realises two new residential projects in Neugraben-Fischbek next to two unique regional nature parks.

From 2006 to 2013, the International Building Exhibition IBA Hamburg significantly changed the face of Hamburg‘s south by numerous sustainable building projects. Now, IBA Hamburg GmbH will continue its work as the new municipal project developer for Hamburg‘s south. IBA GmbH‘s head office will thus remain at Veddel‘s IBA DOCK.

Initial tasks include residential projects in Wilhelmsburg following the relocation of the dual carriageway Wilhelmsburger Reichstrasse along with sites in Georgswerder, the Georg-Wilhelm Courtyards and the Haulander Weg district. In Harburg, IBA has been entrusted with the development and marketing of two residential projects with a total of 2,300 housing units.

Next to Neugraben‘s S-Bahn station, construction of Vogelkamp Neugraben with 1,500 units for 3,500 people will commence this year. Located next to the nature reserve and EU bird sanctuary “Moorgürtel“, the neighbourhood will offer affordable housing for families, couples, singles and building communities on 135 plots. From 2016-2019, the former Röttiger barracks near the nature reserve Fischbek heath will be converted into another green neighbourhood with 800 new housing units on 52 hectares.
The sale of plots is scheduled for 2015.
