On the Fascination of Technology Club

The “Fascination of Technology” club evolved from the lecture series “The Fascination of Flying – Technology for Children”. Honoured as a “Place of Ideas 2011” in the federal campaign “Germany – Land of Ideas”, the club offers year-round events keyed to children and young adults from the age of eight years. On average, some 200 junior students flock to each of the lectures held by professors at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg). Afterwards, they have the opportunity to put their newly acquired knowledge to work in companies and laboratories. Every year, HAW also organises hands-on summer camps in conjunction with companies from three of the city’s key industries, i.e. aviation, shipbuilding, and renewable energies.
