Around 150 international experts at colleges and firms in Hamburg’s aviation sector are expected at the 6th International Workshop on Aircraft System Technologies (AST) from February 21-22, 2017 focusing on the latest aviation trends. “The workshop has become a respected platform for knowledge transfer in aviation and is established in the sector,” said Prof. Dr.-Ing. Otto von Estorff, Director of the Institute of Modelling and Computation at the Technical University Hamburg-Harburg, who has taken over the chair of AST 2017 with Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Thielecke, Director of the Institute of Aircraft Systems Engineering.
Intense exchange between industry and research
The two-day workshop will be held in the Hotel Hafen Hamburg. Around 50 high level presentations by leading experts will give each delegate an in-depth view of the status of systems and components in several fields of aviation. Aspects of current applications as well as future research and developments will be exchanged in the hope of impetus for new fields of research and an intense exchange between industry and research.
The forum hosts keynotes on aircraft systems, equipment, cabin technology, information and communication technology as well as materials and production. The event in Hamburg is organized on an annually rotating basis in co-operation with the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Toulouse. The next event in Toulouse is the “Recent Advances in Actuation Systems and Components”.
