The 5th World Passenger Symposium (WPS) will continue to focus on industry collaboration. Under the theme “Innovating better, together”, WPS 2015 will focus on how industry collaboration will drive value through innovation for the benefit of customers. It will cover the transformation currently taking place in the industry in the areas of distribution, customer ground & Inflight experience and IT & Technology. The high-level event at the Congress Center Hamburg underlines the relevance of the Hanseatic city as a leading centre of the global aviation industry.
Hamburg – The Place for Aviation
With more than 40,000 skilled staff, Hamburg is one of the world’s largest locations of the civil aviation industry.. Their competencies cover the complete life cycle of an aircraft from the design to assembly and outfitting, to maintenance, repair and overhaul, and finally to recycling. In the third-biggest location of the civil aviation industry worldwide, the industry’s two giants, Airbus and Lufthansa Technik, are joined by Hamburg Airport and more than 300 small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as a variety of scientific and technological institutions in their efforts to improve today’s aviation and to invent the future of flying.
Global Passenger Survey
At the WPS, the result’s of 2015’s passenger survey by IATA will be revealed and discussed. The IATA Global Passenger Survey is designed to give an independent, in depth and objective snapshot of the views of air travelers from around the world into what they want, how they behave, why they make choices and what they spend their money on. The survey covers the preferences of air travelers from the point of travel browsing and ticket purchase, on to the start of their journey at a departure airport till the point they collect their bags at their destination. The survey is conducted every ten years.
Improving Passenger Experiences
At the WPS, the IATA Passenger Innovation Awards will be granted. The awards aim to ignite new ideas in the passenger world. This year’s finalists are Indigo Transport on Arrival, LikeWhere Personalised Discover, MTT Concierge Live, and Soarigami. Finalists will win cash awards, but will also have a unique opportunity to attend the IATA World Passenger Symposium, network and present their ideas on stage to all the delegates.
